XIAO PENGKE

 

 

This film portrays the import of consumerism, the loss of values and the difficulties young migrant workers face in contemporary China.

 

These developments are told through the life of Xiao Pengke -Little Punk- a young nomadic poetess from Shanghai's rock shows, who sings about the remaining pieces of myth of cultural revolution.

 

This film premiered at the Torino Film Festival in 2008, and won the Best Director award at the Italian Cineclub Federation (Fedic) Festival in 2009. It was later screened at numerous International Women's rights Festivals.
