To lobby for young people, we need active and motivated young people.

 

For this reason, ThinkYoung runs tailored workshops for students, to practically and informally teach them how the institutions of the EU function, as well what the work of a think-tank involves.

 

These workshops are run using examples from first-hand experience, gained from our work.

 

Our aims:

 

•    connect theoretical information with practical knowledge about institution of EU
•    gather foreign youngster and open a debate on topic related to the EU institutional function and roles

 

In practice:

 

In November 2010, ThinkYoung hosted a group of youngsters for a Flemish highschool.

After a tour of the office, the students were given insight into the work ThinkYoung does and why we do it.

 

They got to see how the European institutions work, what different stakeholders are present and how lobbying works.

 

To give a good feel we split up into smaller, simulated “think-tanks”, which allowed the students to learn how to approach a current topic together.

 

In November 2010, ThinkYoung hosted a group of students from a Swedish University.

We complimented the student’s academic knowledge of the EU institutions by discussing and debating the role of think-tanks and lobby groups.
