What happened

 

On 12th of August 2013, ThinkYoung hosted the 1st edition of the Entrepreneurship Summer School in Hong Kong.

A total of 42 participants took part, coming from both Europe and Asia, making this year’s first Edition in Hong Kong a great success for the ThinkYoung team. The Entrepreneurship Summer School was hosted at the University of Hong Kong, the most prestigious university in the country. The participants gained valuable experience and had the chance to exchange ideas with one another.

They were also encouraged to leave their fear of failure behind them and were shown how they can achieve success.

 

 

 

 

One of the most memorable activities during the week of the Entrepreneurship Summer School in Hong Kong was the visit to Huawei Head Quarters in Shenzhen, providing them with an example on how to enlarge their horizons and to see growth of innovation.

Andrea Gerosa

Founder of ThinkYoung and Entrepreneur

 

Andrea is the founder of ThinkYoung, the first European think tank made by young people for young people in Brussels.

He is also the founder of a Swiss based real estate firm that operates investments and advisory. Previously, Andrea worked as an associate consultant for the Oracle Corporation in Spain. While studying business administration at Bocconi University in Milan, Andrea worked for four years in the European Confideration of Junior Enterprises (JADE), starting off at the consultancy firm JEME Bocconi in 2002, elected President of JADE Italia in 2003 and European President of Jade in 2005.

Raphael Cohen

Founder of Hotel Quickly

 

Raphael is the CSO and Co-Founder of HotelQuickly, Asia's largest last-minute hotel booking app.

As a serial entrepreneur, Raphael also founded the online graphic design outsourcing company Corporate Edesign, as well as CGHK Export, a China-focused trading company. He graduated from the University of Toronto with a Bachelor of Commerce, and exchanged to the University of Hong Kong and Shanghai Jiaotong University.

Raphael was born and raised in Paris, but lived in Toronto, Shanghai, Singapore, Ho Chi Minh City and Hong Kong, which is also the reason why he speaks 6 languages and travels so much.

Jennifer Chan

Founder of Delta Think

 

Riding on her understanding of the cultures of both East and West, she has the vision of bringing in new concepts and solutions by creating “delta” platforms across different sectors and geographical locations. Jennifer has an unparalleled knowledge of business from the perspectives of owner, manager and operator.

She has developed long-term relationships with reputable companies, NGOs, government institutions and professional firms in the Benelux regions, as well as in Hong Kong and China.

Recognised as a successful entrepreneur, she also holds advisory positions in various institutions, including the Hong Kong General Chamber of Commerce, the Shenzhen Association of Trade in Service and the Economic Development Board Rotterdam.

Robert van Hunsel

Founder of Media Group Asia ltd

 

Robert, born and raised in the Netherlands, has a very diverse background. At a young age he started as a singer and worked with many acts which enabled him to travel to many places, perform on many stages and work with great and talented people in the international music industry.

In 2011 Robert moved to Hong Kong to start Media Group Asia ltd. a media & creative investment company where he has worked on many different projects and build up a network in Greater China and Singapore.

Carola van den Bruinhorst

Founder of Hong Kong office of Loyens & Loeff

 

Carola van den Bruinhorst (1965), tax adviser, founded the Hong Kong office and has been heading it since late 2011.

She advises internationally operating groups and funds on their Dutch, EU or other international acquisitions, and other cross-border transactions, such as corporate structuring and restructuring, financing and joint ventures.

Previously she worked in Milan, New York and Amsterdam. Carola frequently lectures and publishes on international tax planning. She is a visiting professor at the East China University of Political Science and Law in Shanghai, where she lectures on International Tax.

Cheryl Wilson

Founder of Charitable Choice

 

Cheryl has more than 15 years of international commercial experience in the areas of business development, sales and marketing. She provided advice and facilitated market entry for numerous foreign investors during her tenure with the Hong Kong SAR Government. Moved by the generosity of Hong Kong people yet alarmed at the income disparity that exists in this city, Cheryl founded Charitable Choice in 2010 to provide an alternative to traditional gift giving and to help those in need.

 

 

Tin Hang Liu

Founder of SEOLAB and Cityfan

 

Tin Hang Liu is the founder of SEOLAB (SocialMedia division), an italian company with top clients like the Benetton Group Worldwide, Fox, Kimberly Clark and CEO/founder of Cityfun, a startup company that focuses on reviews of local business in partnership with the biggest media group in Italy, Gruppo Editoriale L’Espresso.

Previously, he was the director of Italchina, an international company concerned with mergers & acquisitions, consultancy and corporate management. Here he worked with top clients such as: The Cagiva Group and Giugiaro Design. He is also a teacher at IULM University where he lectures about Social Media Marketing and Online Strategies for students at a Master Level.
